Bryan Dattilo Response to Firing

“I really enjoyed my years on DAYS and I am grateful for having had the opportunity to travel the world and meet so many great fans in person," Dattilo tells Star. “For the past couple years I’ve had to turn down jobs that would move me to prime-time because I was under contract to DAYS. But now that I am not tied to the show, I can explore some new and exciting opportunities.”

"She could kill a bear with a switch."

Review of Tuesday's eppy.

It was a good eppy other than the teens ruining it again.

I'm loving snarky Hope.  Hope and Lexie laughing over Vivian putting a corpse in the hospital bed to scare Carly was priceless.  I miss the Hope/Lexie friendship.  Hope's friendless now without Kayla and Jennifer, her other bff's.  Hope gets Bo to agree to have Christmas Eve at their house.  Bo calls Carly immediately.  Looks to me like Bo has moved on.

Mia/Will/Chad/Gabi.  I kind of like Gabi.  At least the actress can act.  Maybe it's just my old high school, but I don't remember the school's teenaged mom having two guys fight over taking her to a dance.  Will and Chad fought over taking Mia to some dance.  Chad drops out of the whole mess, good for him.  He asks out Gabi.  Sucker Will takes Mia anyways even though she agreed to go with both guys.  The Diva is at least thankful that DOOL isn't going towards a teenage menage a trois route.  Ewwwwwwwww.

Sami mauls Kate when she finds out Kate had the same boots the kidnapper wore.  Kate proves that she returned them unworn two weeks ago.  Kate and Stefano commiserate over their lack of offspring at Christmas.  Lexie turns down Stefano's invite.  EJ talks to Arianna who gives him the idea of a public pleading for the return of Sydney.  Sami agrees to do it.

Anna takes pics of sweet Sydney.  She continues to talk to Tony's picture.  The Diva is a bit surprised that they are using his pic.  The show needs Thaao's permission to use it.  Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.  It appears as though that Anna isn't quite in her right mind.  Leann Hunley is doing a brilliant job with keeping us interested in this long storyline.

Over all, good show on Tuesday.

Bryan Dattilo Was Let Go!!

News has come in through the SONY boards that Bryan Dattilo's contract (up in February 2010) has not been picked up.  His manager verified that he filmed his last episode this past week.  Bryan is excited to move on to new opportunities.

The way Lucas has been rewritten, backburned and pushed aside for the likes of EJ, Rafe and Dan -- I can't say that I'm surprised about this news, but it's still a bummer.  I wish the best for Bryan in his post-DAYS career.

Diva Picks - 12/14 to 12/18

WINNER OF THE WEEK: Anna Dimera. I never in a million years thought that I would write her name in these picks…so I’ll say it again. ANNA DA-MEE-RAH!!! After an off-screen wedding to Tony, a pointless fling with Josh Taylor’s Roman, being sent to backburner oblivion, and not even getting to say a goodbye to the love of her life before he was impaled to death by a splinter of pier wood…Salem will learn there is no fury like Anna Dimera scorned.

LOSER OF THE WEEK: Kinsey. A return I’m not so happy to see. What is the point of this whining dull character?

SCENE OF THE WEEK: Melanie and Philip agreeing to celebrate a non-Xmas. With their bad family histories, it’s nice to see them bonding in some way that doesn’t involve porn.

PERFORMER OF THE WEEK: James Scott. He’s doing the best he can with what he’s got to work with, considering Rafe seems to be the one always getting to the bottom of the baby switch mysteries. His scenes with Arianna, Nicole and Stefano were very good this week.

ZINGER OF THE WEEK: Vivian welcoming Carly back as doctor at Salem University Hospital - “Victor and I just wanted to mark your return to the killing fields…er, stomping grounds.”
